Perspective From PDR

PDR studies aim to enable students to make the right choices by getting to know themselves, to make the right decisions, to realise themselves as a healthy and balanced person, and a systematic and professional assistance process is carried out in this direction.

A comprehensive developmental guidance approach is essential at TED Üsküdar College. Counselling and guidance services are based on the principles of confidentiality, voluntariness, continuity, respect for individual rights, the worthiness of the individual, the autonomy of the individual and co-operation with relevant persons.

Counselling and Guidance Services are carried out in 3 areas.

1. Individual Guidance: Developing individual-specific education programmes by taking into account the personal characteristics of students and socio-economic and cultural factors, providing psychological counselling services to students and their families regarding the needs and problems of students.
2. Educational Guidance: To improve the study behaviour of students, to ensure that students in kindergarten transition to primary school, students in primary school transition to secondary school and students in secondary school transition to high school in an equipped manner.
3. Vocational Guidance: To observe the interests and abilities of students from kindergarten onwards in line with the Multiple Intelligence Theory, to apply the necessary inventories and to direct students to the most suitable professions by following their interests and abilities throughout their education.
